General managers, team presidents, and other sports executives may earn salaries that range from $68,600 to more than $187,200 per year. Those in the minor leagues earn far less, only $20,000 to $50,000 while star managers can top 1 million in the majors. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, general and operations managers for sports organizations earned average annual salaries of $110,140 in May 2015. Chief executive officers earned an average of $217,280 while earnings for managers of departments, such as advertising, human resources, marketing, and sales ranged between $1000,000 and $125,000.
