Non-destructive testing technicians earned a median salary of $51,179 in March 2018, as reported by Salaries ranged from $32,322 or less to $55,851 or more. Those in the related field of engineering technicians (except drafters), all others not listed separately, earned a median salary of $62,230 in May 2017, according to the Department of Labor. The lowest 10 percent earned $35,030 or less and the top 10 percent earned $97,270 or more. Those who worked for the federal government earned about $78,120 per year, whereas those employed in architectural, engineering, and related services averaged $58,840 per year.
