Mutual Fund Financial Managers

Work Environment

Financial managers work in modern, well-lit offices. They have access to cutting-edge software and other technologies. Some positions may require travel. Finance and accounting management staff typically worked 46 hours per week on average, according to the staffing firm Robert Half’s 2016 Benchmarking the Accounting & Finance Function. Despite the long hours, a 2015 survey of CFOs by Robert Half Management Resources found that 82 percent rated their work-life balance as “good” or “very good.” Seventeen percent of CFOs rated their work-life balance as “fair” or “poor.”
