Music Producers

Unions and Associations

Music producers are not represented by unions. Many join the Audio Engineering Society and the Society of Professional Audio Recording Services, professional associations that provide career guidance, networking opportunities, and other resources. The Recording Industry Association of America is a trade organization of businesses that create, manufacture, and/or distribute approximately 85 percent of all recorded music that is produced and sold in the United States. The Recording Academy represents the interests of music industry professionals; it is probably best known for its Grammy Awards.
