According to the U.S. Department of Labor, median annual earnings of all librarians in May 2018 were $59,050. Salaries ranged from less than $34,630 for the lowest paid 10 percent to more than $93,050. Librarians working in colleges and universities earned $64,130. Librarians employed in local government earned $53,060. In the federal government, the average salary for all librarians was $88,730.
