Salaries for music librarians depend on the location, size, and type of library, the amount of experience the librarian has, and the responsibilities of the position. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, median annual earnings of all librarians in May 2015 were $56,880. Salaries ranged from less than $33,810 for the lowest paid 10 percent to more than $88,530. Librarians working in colleges and universities earned $60,300. Librarians employed in local government earned $51,570. In the federal government, the average salary for all librarians was $82,880.
