Median annual earnings of electrical and electronics engineering technicians were $61,130 in May 2015, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Salaries ranged from less than $36,170 to more than $90,570. Mean annual earnings of technicians who worked in the semiconductor and other electronic component manufacturing industry were $59,450. Those who worked for the federal government earned $66,200. Wage rates vary greatly, according to skill level, type of employer, and location.
