Investment Fund Managers

Work Environment

Investment fund managers work in office settings. They may work for large investment firms and spend much of the workday in corporate offices. They may also work from their own home offices. Their workday entails a great deal of time spent on the computer, conducting research, analyzing and compiling data, and using e-mail. They also spend some time traveling to meet with clients and attend industry-related conferences and events. Investment fund managers work full-time hours, usually 40 hours per week. Occasionally they work longer hours to meet project deadlines and their clients' work requests.
