Information Security Analysts

Work Environment

Information security analysts work in comfortable offices. They have normal business hours, but may have to be on call at night and on weekends in case of an emergency. They spend much of their time working at a computer, but the availability of mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, and laptop computers allow analysts to work at home or in other non-office locations. At small companies, an analyst may work alone and be entirely responsible for protecting his or her employer from security threats. This high level of responsibility can be stressful during emergency situations. At larger employers, analysts work in information technology departments with other information security professionals, computer systems analysts, software engineers, and network administrators.
