Film and Television Producers

Producers organize and secure the financial backing for the production of motion pictures and television shows. They decide which scripts will be used or which books will be adapted for film or a television show. Producers also raise money to finance the filming of a motion picture or television show; hire the director, screenwriter, and cast; oversee the budget and production schedule; and monitor the distribution of the film. Approximately 104,650 producers and directors are employed in the United States.
