According to the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), median annual earnings for epidemiologists were $69,450 in May 2015, with the lowest 10 percent earning less than $46,130, and the highest 10 percent earning more than $114,550. The DOL reports the following mean annual salaries for epidemiologists by employer: scientific research and development services, $108,630; general medical and surgical hospitals, $81,110; and colleges, universities, and professional schools, $72,130.
