Electrical Engineering Technologists

Little or no change in employment is expected for electrical and electronics engineering technicians through 2028, according to the Occupational Outlook Handbook. Electrical engineering technologists who work in manufacturing will see a decline in employment that corresponds to the decline in manufacturing in the United States and increased competition from foreign countries. Growth is expected in the engineering services sector, however, as companies aim to reduce costs by contracting out their engineering services.
