Aquaculture production is expected to decline 2 percent by 2024, according to the Department of Labor. According to, the decline can be “attributed mainly to water constraints, limited availability of optimal production locations and the rising costs of fishmeal and fish oil.” Despite slowing growth, predicts that “aquaculture will remain one of the fastest-growing animal food-producing sectors.”
